Rivians are not common, the glass is large and expensive, and the driver-assistance suite behind it is dense. The practical result for an owner in the Sacramento area is a short list: a service center appointment weeks out, or an independent shop that will fit the glass and then admit it cannot calibrate what sits behind it.
We are on that list because we calibrate in-house. The replacement and the camera calibration happen here, on the same appointment, on our own equipment, so the truck leaves finished rather than leaving twice. If the pane has to be ordered, we tell you the real lead time when you call rather than booking you in and hoping.
Tell us whether it is an R1T or an R1S and give us the year and the VIN if you have it. The VIN pins down the exact glass, which matters more on a low-volume vehicle than on anything else we fit. Step 1: Confirm the pane by VIN
The VIN identifies the exact glass, the sensor package and the bracketry. We check availability and give you the real lead time before anything is booked.
Step 2: Strip carefully
Cowl, trim and sensor covers come off properly. Replacement trim on a low-volume vehicle is its own lead time, so nothing gets broken to save ten minutes.
Step 3: Set and bond
The pane is set to the bonding requirements for the vehicle, and we explain the safe drive-away time before you plan the rest of the day.
Step 4: Calibrate and verify here
The driver-assistance cameras are calibrated in our own bay and the systems are checked before the truck is handed back.
